View your favoritesSupriya means ‘very dear’ or ‘beloved’, from Sanskrit supriya. Wiktionary records the Hindi adjective and female given name, explaining it through su-, which can mean ‘good’ or ‘very’, and priya, ‘dear’. ‘Much loved’ closely conveys the resulting sense. The name strengthens the affectionate meaning of Priya without requiring a separate devotional association. Its meaning is directly supported by the Sanskrit and Hindi vocabulary.

सुप्रिया is read su-pri-yaa, in three syllables with short u and i vowels and a long ending. Supriyaa makes that final vowel explicit, and Supria also appears. Keep p and r together in the middle rather than reversing them or adding a vowel.
